Canada Wins World Cup of Hockey Again
Canada, the home of hockey, has won the 2016 World Cup of Hockey beating Team Europe in two games in the best of three Championship series. Canada also won the last tournament in 2004.
After an early goal by Zdeno Chara, Europe was able to hold a 1-0 lead until a Patrice Bergeron power play goal late in the 3rd period was able to tie it up for Canada. Then, with 40 seconds left, Brad Marchand was able to score the go-ahead short-handed goal and ultimately seal the victory for Team Canada. 2 goals in less than 3 minutes will go down as one of the memorable finishes in World Cup of Hockey history. Carey Price had 32 saves for Team Canada.
