The St. Louis Blues and the San Jose Sharks continue their Western Conference Finals battle tonight at 8 pm at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis with the Blues holding a 1-0 advantage. The Blues will be looking to solidify their lead as they seek their first Stanley Cup Finals appearance since 1970. The Sharks have been here more recently, playing in their third Conference Finals since 2009, but are seeking their first win.

After having dispatched the reigning champion Chicago Blackhawks, the Blues took Game 1 on the strength of some regular faces, including a goal from center David Backes and 31 saves from goalie Brian Elliott. Both star players have been a key reason for the Blues’ advance through the Western playoffs, and have been joined in the attack by key players like Vladimir Tarasenko and Paul Stastny. For the Sharks, adversity is not a new phenomenon these playoffs. The Nashville Predators took them to a Game 7, and they responded with a 5-0 drubbing. The usual suspects of Logan Couture, Joe Thornton, and Patrick Marleau have been joined by defenseman Brent Burns in the Sharks’ attack, who is second on the team in points this postseason with 16.

Both teams will be looking for a key win before the series shifts to California for Games 3 and 4. Be ready for every game this postseason with all of the top Stanley Cup Playoffs gear for both the St. Louis Blues and the San Jose Sharks.
